At first, Amur thought he was going to chuck the book at her. Her grandparents had always told her not to interfere, especially in 'couple' problems, but Amur had never been very good at listening when she thought she could make a difference. So, when the Professor burst out in laughter, Amur was more than a little surprised. Why was this funny? What had she missed?

And then he was...inviting her in? The tune had certainly done a flip-about, and Amur wasn't really sure what she had gotten herself into. She thought about pointing behind her and saying that was all, that she would leave him with some privacy to muddle over the contents of the book, but decided against it. An invite in was an invite in. She wasn't sure what he wanted to talk about, but running away would do her no good now.

Clutching her rock to herself, Amur slipped further into the office and onto the edge of one of the seats. "I...uhm....." She scratched the back of her head, not sure what to say. "Am I in trouble?"

Yes, that was a good question. That was a really good question. Because she would take the book back if she was going to get in trouble about it. No harm, no foul if he didn't keep it, right?
