He rather keep his relationship to himself, it wasn’t anyone’s business. He’d do interviews as long as it was kept to the professional side and shed light on his charity work, but for his personal business that was his own. “You can cash in on that raincheck whenever you like.” He grinned happily, this had all turned out nicely. Who would have thought they would have ended up like this? It was really great!
He liked hearing that her practice was good, “Tupper keeping that arm in shape.” He put a hand without thinking to his nose. It didn’t hurt at all anymore, but the thought of how strong she really was brought back the feeling. Playing on the same team as someone you don’t really know their power until you are stuck as the target. “Rebecca should be happy with the way you are all playing. I bet you are on her good side right now.” His girlfriend was a great chaser, so there was no need not to be. She was captain as well, which he was incredibly proud of.
Sitting and sipping some water he ordered them some wine before picking up the menu, “Practice was good. Harvey has a different way to things. It’s nice to have him around and not wish he would just leave already. Rapunzel is pretty smart, so she’s got many good tactics when it comes to her coaching style.” Though he knew that from her being his bludger targets during games that she played. He gave a smile at her words, he was glad he got to see her play the other weekend when they had a bye. “We probably have one on a different day, we’ll have to compare. I think I have the Catapults schedule still.” He had gotten it before the trade. So maybe if they went back to his place they could look. “Know what you want to order?” Esme bit her lip and nodded, her thoughts drifting a bit as Giles mentioned the place allowing for a little more privacy. She hated talking to the press mainly for the fact that they seemed so focused on gossip rather than actual news, no matter what the expense of the person they wrote the story on. And what she learned over the weekend just cemented that thought further in her mind. "Good idea," she said, smiling softly. "Did you happen to see that gossip column about Muirgen?" Awful, really. Esme normally stayed away from those tabloids, but another of their teammates happened to show her the article. And she'd rather not having anything like that written about her, not that she was hiding her relationship, but it was her business and not material for rumors and gossip. But she smiled wider when he agreed to cash in her raincheck. "Good, I'm going to hold you to it." A fancy night out with him sounded fun.
Her smile faltered a bit as her eyes focused on the hand he lifted to his nose. She could still replay that awful moment in her head when she saw that bludger connect with his face. With the joking between them before the match, she didn't think it would be so hard to play against him instead of them being on the same team like they once were. "Yes, she is a force," Esme said softly, her smile faint. "I'm lucky to have her defending me." Her smile grew a bit bigger. "I'm glad we only play you once a year," she added with a chuckle. She really couldn't imagine it being more frequent. "Does Rebecca have a good side?" she laughed, though she did seem to be about as pleased as she had ever seen her. Hopefully that would stay.
Wine sounded perfect and she took a sip of water as Giles did the same, nodding a bit as he talked about practice. "Sounds like it's going well," she smiled, happy that he seemed to be enjoying his new team. "Yes, she was a pretty good chaser.." It wouldn't surprise her to know that she was now using that knowledge and skill to guide the rest of the team. The best coaches and managers seemed to be former players. She didn't think Rebecca had played though as far as she knew. "Oh I hope so," Esme grinned. "I have this pretty awesome Cannons shirt I can wear to a game." She actually liked to sleep in it sometimes, but it would be fun to wear it to one of his games. Even if someone saw and accused her of being a traitor or something. "Oh," she laughed as she pulled the menu in front of her and opened it. "I guess I should decide on something." Her eyes quickly scanned the selections, knowing what she could or couldn't have. "I think I might have some grilled fish." Though she would rather have it fried, but not so good for her regimen. "Does Harvey and Rapunzel have you on as strict a diet as Rebecca insists on?" She was sure he'd remember that, but it was just as likely that they weren't as strict. Though who knew, maybe they all were.
