An adorable fluffball though......yeah....he was gonna....just....no. No.
Maddox kept backing up until he felt his tail brush against the door; a sign he couldn't go any further. It was at this point that he wasted no time in stretching back into the form of a MAN. Not adorable. No fur. No troubles. He cleared his throat. "Good day Miss Neverwinter, what...can I do for you...?" This one had obviously missed the memo or wasn't as sharp on memory.
Then again, there had been a lot more cats wandering the place recently... Aww poor kitty. It was scared wasn't it? Probably one of the feral ones that still wandered Hogwarts after the divination lesson. Scotching forward a little, Amur extended her hand a bit more, and a bit more. "It's okay little one. Not gonna hurt you. Just gonna get you some nice warm milk. We've got a fireplace upstairs and..."
MERLIN'S SHAVED BEARD!
Amur was pressed against the sitting chairs before the cat-man was even done his transformation, the echo of her squeal of surprise still ringing in her ears. Really, it would have been pretty cool if it was someone she didn't know, but to see Professor Quigley standing there in the flesh before her, was terrifying. A moment ago he had been adorable. A moment ago she had wanted to give the adorable kitten cuddles and hugs and .........
NO! Just. No. No no no no no no no no no no no no NO!
She was about to cry. Legit, about to cry. Her lip wibbled and her wide eyes were as wide as they had ever been. Except, that Amur Neverwinter didn't cry. Ever. And unfortunately, she had learned a thing or two from her mother. As soon as she could recover from the shock of the incident and take a single breath, Amur was scrambling to her feet.
"WHY! Why would you do that?! What would possess you to stroll about like a cute little creature when there are cute little creatures wandering about everywhere?!" Wait. Had she just called her Professor cute? That spiked her even more. "AND you should remember that not EVERYONE and their owl knows about you and your aniguim...anigu-...anug....whatever! THAT!" She pointed at his feet to where the cat had once been. "To YOU." And then up at his face. "Don't you know it is second nature of people to fawn over things with fur! WHY would you tempt THAT?!"
Really Professor. WHY?
"I understand it must be interesting to be a cat, but maybe leave that up to the Magical Creatures Professor! It would be more expected of him! And most animals down at the barnyard are hands off! If you're going to prance about the castle like....like that then at least attach a sign to your tail. Or have a collar. Or....orr...shave off some fur that says 'Do Not TOUCH'!!"
