Wait...Lazybones? Okay, not a cute name really, but she could sympathize. Although, those words...

"I never said anything about failing. Who said anything about failing?" And failing was a Gryffindor thing? That didn't sound good. Amur pulled back a little, trying to process the older girl's words. "I do care about how I get somewhere....but I also cared about not blowing up my dragon." Wasn't that part of the process? And her dragon wasn't exploded, see? So far no failure.

"But I suppose you're right. I don't care about looking stupid. I find it's a waste of time and energy to care about something so subjective and biased." After all, one person's stupid was another person's genius. "If you worry about looking stupid all the time, how are you supposed to actually enjoy what you are doing? How are you supposed to have fun?" Like flying dragons. Common, didn't this girl want to fly?

Maybe her social circle had high expectations of her, so she had to care about how she looked when she did things? That was possible. Amur decided she shouldn't judge. After all, the girl was partially right. They were in different houses. They thought differently. Still....she needed to relax a little. Let loose. Drive a convertible or fly a dragon.

But alas, no partner flying. She shrugged. The Professors rules were the Professors rules. But, not enough fibre? Amur snorted a little at that, covering her mouth with one hand. Alright, so the girl wasn't a complete stickler.

She watched as she set to the task of enlarging her dragon. Really, she wasn't sure what the Slytherin had been so worried about. Her dragon enlarged rather seamlessly. For that, she got a round of applause from Amur. See? Process.
"If you try something without knowing the outcome, then you might fail. I'm just saying you're willing to fail, and I... don't like to." Not suggesting the girl would fail, just that she didn't care so much whether she did or not. And Dot cared a LOT. "Have fun your way, and I'll have fun my way."

And that left them on good terms, because Dot had made her dragon larger without blowing it up and the girl... Amur, was it? The girl hadn't made fun of her for it and had applaued when she got her spell right.

Speaking of spells gone right, Dot needed to get a move on before the professor lack-of-fibered in her direction again. She put a hand on the neck of her dragon to let him know she was there, and then she scrambled ungraciously onto his back. All elbows and flashes of knee socks. "Good boy, Lazybones. We're going for a little flight, and you need to not drop me off to my death. Please."

She pointed her wand to the sky. "Okay FLY." Nothing. Sigh. Lazy dragon. "Please fly." Dot kicked her heels gamely against the dragon's sides and tried some serious intention. The dragon was supposed to do what she said, right? "Fly fly fly." She kicked again, and Lazybones stirred and extended his wings. GOOD START.
