Transportation Updates

I am very excited to be returning to Level Six as your Department Head! For those of you who do not know me, I am Gabriela Recard (yes, I got married since you've last seen me!) and this is my third time returning as Department Head. We will also miss Robert terribly but wish him the best of luck in his future endeavors! I would love to meet all my new employees - please feel free to stop by my office and say hello!

Transportation Camping Trip!

Lots of things have changed around here since I left - and I want to get to know each and every one of you! We also have two amazing new employees joining us and what better way to welcome them to the team than through a fun employee bonding trip? This trip will take place at the end of February, please keep checking the notice board for official dates.

A new division?

Some brainstorming has been done at the executive level, and we've realized that there is no division that regulates the use of large Muggle based wizarding transportation - for example, the Hogwarts Express, the Knight Bus, etc. Do we need to great a new division on our level to regulate these areas? Or is that something we can incorporate into one of our existing levels? Brainstorm and think it over, I'll be asking for a report from each of you after the festivities of the new year wind down.

Magic Carpet Legislation!

Good news everyone - the ban that was in place restricting the trade and use of magic carpets has been LIFTED in the recent election. It now falls on us to determine how we are going to word the new law and what the guidelines will be for magic carpet ownership. Please select one of the following committees you'd like to be on, and we will have individual meetings with each group to establish the fine details of the new law.

The committees are as follows:

Writing up new legislation - Focusing on the actual WORDING of the law to make sure all loopholes are secure, etc. This committee will also be in charge of delivering the final document to Sherman Clark for him to sign.

Guidelines on ownership - should we limit how many carpets one person may have? Are only certain kinds of carpets going to be allowed? These are all things that need to be discussed!

Guidelines on trade - How will we go about setting up a magic carpet market in England? Should existing shops get first dibs on new imports? Or can anyone buy carpets and get to selling?

Regulation of Use - Outlining how magic carpets can be used WITHOUT exposing ourselves to muggles or jeopardizing the lives of muggles or wizards by misusing magic carpets. May need to work with Invisibility Task Force on Level 3 to assure the proper charms are placed on the carpets to prevent muggles from seeing them.

Select your top THREE choices for committees and please OWL them to me by no later than January 31st. We have to get started on this ASAP!

Ministry Updates

We have a new Minister!

The votes have been tallied, and by now I'm sure you've all heard that our amazing new Minister is none other than Sherman Clark! I'm sure Sherman is going to do amazing in his new post. If anyone would like to go in on a fruit bouquet that I'm putting together for him, please send me an OWL with the amount you'd like to contribute. Not required, of course!

International Magical Cooperation Needs Volunteers!

The Biannual Council is meeting to discuss important things such as trading guidelines, immigration procedures, and much more, and the employees on Level 5 need your help! If you'd like to donate your time to this important cause, please contact Gidyun Yenorin for more details.

Welcome back! I hope you're excited for a new year in Transpo - I certainly am! We have a lot of great RP opportunities and I can't wait to get started. The camping trip will most likely take place OOC sometime between March 8th - March 15th (start date). I'm going out of town on March 1st and obviously don't want to get started on a plot right before I leave! It'll be a fun opportunity to mingle and of course, things might not ALWAYS go according to plan The new division is definitely something we can try and put into works, but I want to hear what YOU guys think. Gabi will "collect" (aka I'll PM you all) after my vacation to get your IC opinions (and OOC if you so choose to include that as well!)
