The flame had hardly worried Brooklyn. It just proved to her that Balerion knew what he was supposed to do, what he was supposed to act like. Dragons weren’t supposed to be nice and sweet. They were supposed to be powerful. Even a tiny dragon had power. Her tiny dragon had power. She just needed to get it into the cage, at least temporarily. She still doubted those bars would be able to hold it back for too long, especially now that she knew what was supposed to be in the cage. She already knew Balerion wouldn’t like being caged. She’d pointed toward it with her wand again, though.

All that accomplished was to receive another tiny jet of flames, as the dragon prowled around her desk, staying clear of the cage.Smart dragon, she thought, putting her wand away. She didn’t want it to get singed. Really, she’d rather not get singed either, but she had to get the dragon into the cage. All that was left was to sort of pen it in until the only option was to head toward the cage.

To accomplish that, she set her textbook on one side, blocking Balerion from one angle. Then she used her hand and arm, stretching it out along the other edge of her desk to block the other direction. Balerion kept prowling, occasionally letting out a huff of smoke. No more flames, thankfully, but she could tell it was irritated. She would be too in the circumstances, but there was no other option. Finally, the dragon prowled toward the cage, turning gain to shoot one final tiny jet of flames toward her as she quickly latched the door. One caged Balerion for the activity down, questions about the rest of the lesson to go.
