In all honesty Layla wasn’t really that bothered by the idea of Dragons. Sure, they were cool and everyone wanted to meet one when they were younger but Layla was bought up a muggle and in the mind frame that they didn’t exist. And she still had her doubts that this wasn’t some extreme mind trickery on behalf of the Professors in the room.
So where all the other students were getting stupidly excited, the sixth year remained in her seat until the excitement had calmed down. She determined she liked the male professor Quigley though, he even looked at her when she said nothing. That was good professorship, acknowledging all the students. Even if she did still want to be left alone..
She decided that the she would practice the spell first before getting on with it. She had picked up magic pretty well considering she was a late developer but that didn’t mean her magic was flawless. She still needed to practice more than once before she got it completely right. She’d get the hang of it eventually though, she was sure. She grabbed her wand and started practicing the wand movement. She slashed through the hair, being careful to move from left to right.
She proceeded to practice the wand movement for a little while longer before she moved onto the incantation. “Draconifor..” she spoke. “Draconifor..” Her voice came a little clearer until she was satisfied she was getting it right.
