Now that the practice was over, Brooklyn was ready to actually silence her toadstool. Her toadstool who hadn’t flinched at the wand jabs, by the way, which had irritated her even more. It had just kept on squeakily repeating her every repetition of the incantation. Therefore, she was all too happy to be able to silence it. Hopefully. She didn’t want to be the only person to fail at casting the spell, not after she’d practiced like they were supposed to. Maybe not entirely as they were supposed to, as she doubted they were supposed to threaten their toadstools, but it had been too tempting.

Jabbing her wand at her toadstool yet again, she focused on it. “Silencio!” She knew the spell had hit, but she still had to wait a second or two before she knew if it had worked, since the toadstool hadn’t been trying to annoy her at the exact moment she’d cast. But, soon enough, she realized it would have copied her had her spell not worked. Much better, and the greenhouse was a lot quieter now too. Maybe it was still possible she could fix her headache by herself.
