The last port of call in Toby's journey towards creating a new house was to try to write out what could be seen as an excerpt from the Sorting Hat's song about the house in question. Toby knew this was asking a lot. He didn't write creative stuff; simply didn't have that kind of brainpower. Creating something new and clever was often beyond his talents, but he still wanted to
try. If he failed, then he had a bunch of notes to read from for his presentation thing.
Knowing that class would surely wind down soon, Toby loaded up his quill with ink and held it over the parchment, ready to go. He'd tried to trick himself, you see, with getting all prepped to start writing and making like he was about to put quill to parchment and seeing if the words would come on their own. That was how things usually went when he did homework, after all. And why half his homework was just one huge long rambly mess. But this time, no words, not a single one was coming to him.
Toby hestitated, though back to the most recent sorting, and started to write, being strangely cautious.

Wait, no... did that fit? Would it sound right in a poem with the sort of long House name coming straight after? Toby read it in his head, mouthing the words as he went, but when he reached the name of the house he screwed up his face a little and crossed it out. ... Okay, yes, that had got sort of ridiculous. Just a smidge. Toby looked at what he'd written for just a moment before he picked up the parchment and bundled it all up into a ball, and shoved that in his pocket. He'd just read from his notes from earlier if needed. There was a ton of those AND he'd made a crest for the house. Nah, this was good. No song required, though it WOULD have been cool. Toby hesitated there, before picking up the quill again and starting to vaguely plan another song-type-thing. Not necessarily FOR the presentation. Not for anything, really. But... just in case. It would be cool to have something like that too.
STaying mindful of the time, Toby jotted some more things down.
