Penelope was watching her cat, Orion, for her divination homework. He was currently curled in a ball by the fire in the common room. According to the textbook, that meant that everything was still and calm for the moment, but she should keep alert for something coming in the future. If this term was going to be anything like the last two terms she had been at Hogwarts, she would need to be alert, and she didn't really need a cat to help her figure that out.

Penelope continued to follow Orion around the common room, watching to see what he was doing and taking notes. Orion appeared to be going somewhere. Following Orion, Penelope observed as he made his way over to the edge of the common room. That probably didn't mean anything.
