WHY WAS THIS CAT FOLLOWING HIM? Did Caleb smell like catnip or something? It had followed him all the way up from Care of Magical Creatures, just staring at him in interest and following a few feet behind him. SO weird. This was why Caleb was a dog person. If they were following you, all they wanted was food, love, or playtime. When cats followed you, who knew what they wanted...they were such sly, sneaky creatures, they could be up to anyt--
WAIT. THIS WAS HOMEWORK. DUH NEWELL.
Stopping dead in his tracks, he stopped and turned to look at the cat, who just stared at him. He took a few steps back, watching the cat as it took a few steps towards him, continuing to follow him. Yes, this was part of his divination homework! How could he have forgotten?!
Taking out his notes and his book, he sat down as the cat continued to stare at him, watching him in interest. He opened his book to the page with the descriptions of the cat behaviors and then made a note of it on his parchment. Cats following you meant...receiving money! That's right! He had that same reading during the class!
And yet he still never got his money...so his hopes were not high.
Making a note of this, he closed his book and stood up. "Ok, I got the message, you can go now," he told the cat. He didn't want the cat following him all the way to his next class. After a few seconds, the cat seemed to shrug and then turn around, walking away, satisfied that it's job was done.
