Smiling to herself, Lux peeled off the skin and took a bite from one of the lemon slices. Wow, that was some concentrated sugar. She made a face and was tempted to spit it out but didn't.
After swallowing the sickly sweet fruit, she waited to see what they would be doing next. Hopefully it would be working directly with the Porlocks. Hopefully they liked really sweet fruit, but then horses enjoyed sugar cubes so why not. At least her first attempt had been a success and it looked like others were faring just as well as she had though some needed more than one attempt. |
