Caleb needed a girl. An older girl. Perhaps one with experience if they were lucky. Someone to help take his mind off of OWL stress. Caleb's increasing cantankerousness was something Cutty was not all about.
Also, he sort of didn't trust that Caleb was the sort to leave him a blind-eye unturned and might possibly snitch if he knew half the things Cutty had planned for the year. Worse yet, he may asked to be paid for his silence not unlike Beverly Wayne. A distraction and an influence was chiefly what Cutty prescribed for the sleepy little he-bear. Not to mention he had questions about something Caleb had said during their last run in. It was something Cutty found almost misplaced on the normally respectful brother Newell.
Also, he wanted to use the prefects bathrooms for the access to the fancy water taps. Caleb had a verrrrrry hard time believing that Cutty was up at 4 AM every morning. He'd have heard him if that was true. Although Caleb did sit up a bit at that Bianca bit - he'd only talked to her a few times, but was it true that she had been gossiping about him? And his looks? HE NEEDED TO LOSE WEIGHT?
Now Caleb KNEW Cutty was lying! "Not true, I don't have an ounce of fat on my body!" Caleb declared boldly, knowing quite well that wasn't entirely true, but still, he didn't need to lose weight. Nope. Gain muscle, maybe... "Is there a point to all of this?" he asked him, laying his head back down on the pillow. There HAD to be if Cutty was telling him all these lies and nonsense, trying desperately hard to keep his attention.
