Derek watched closely as the Creatures Department Head administered the potion to one of the mutants as its body went rigid and it started shrieking in pain. It was the moment of truth and they'd all find out if their efforts had been enough.
Apparently they had. At least the creature seemed to calm down and... fall asleep? Merlin, talk about close call.
He glanced at his own boss and the creature he had been taken care of and that mutant seemed to be in the same state as the one Harmony had treated, so it was a good sign.
Derek saw that, as Harmony went over to another mutant, there was still another one without the cure. He wasn't going to wait around because Merlin knew how fast those things could die on them, so the lab technician also went over to a mutant.
Merlin, it was ugly.
However, Derek had dealt with worse things before - as living human beings acting like actual zombies, for example - and didn't hesitate. He pulled the horrible-looking, monkey-like creature out of its cage - probably not as graciously as the others - and administered the cure as well as he could.
