Brooklyn would’ve thought the professors would have figured out a way to make the swamp back its normal size, but it seemed like they either couldn’t or just didn’t want to. Although the rafts had been a nice touch. She’d thought about trying to steal one for use whenever she needed to get anywhere past the first floor, or just asking if she could have one. Taking it would be easier, but less entertaining. Finding someone willing to row her across would’ve been nice too, like maybe her savior from when they’d first found the swamp had gotten bigger. The older Gryffindor wasn’t anywhere around that she could see, though, so she resigned herself to making her way across on her own. She was going to get mad if the paddle gave her splinters, or worse, blisters.
For now, her raft just got dragged to dry ground near the others, and she’d stopped to check for splinters before entering the classroom. None that she could see, so the second year walked regally into the classroom, exactly as she’d done all of last term. She wasn’t going to do anything stupid, or that made her look stupid. She still wanted to find a spell that would announce her name as she entered the room, though. Just hadn’t found it yet.
“Good day, Professor Glendower,” the redhead said politely, making her way to an open seat not far from Beverly. Oh look, the Gryffindor was already there, along with Hufflepuff prefect boy. Maybe she had a way back out once class was over after all, aside from her raft. She was still planning on keeping the raft, either way.
