If he found a book that would let her keep the light, she'd probably like THAT book very much, but it seemed really unlikely. And it might be worse looking for something unlikely in a lot of books than just not looking at all.

"You believe that the answer to every question is in a book somewhere, don't you? I wonder if that makes the world more understandable or just less romantic. Lead the way, Captain Thornbird."
