Thornton grinned in return, squinting just a little at the light in his eye.
"Well," he offered, shrugging,
"maybe another day you'll find a book that is likable." Because that's what Thornton really thought. Liking books was just a matter of finding the right one.
He watched her though, with the blue light. Sapphire was a good description and the light shimmered, even as it disappeared from her hands.
"I bet there is," he said.
"We just have to find it."
