Hogwarts RPG Name:
Amur Neverwinter
Fourth Year
Default Main Activity - Post 3/3
~ Rise and Rise Again, Until Lambs become Lions ~

Right! A blurb, an explanation as to what her constellation did for wizards and witches.

Amur shifted her pumpkin aside, scrubbed her desk with her sleeve, carefully shifted her hidden pumpkin seeds into her pocket and ironed out a fresh piece of parchment with her hand. She dipped her quill, put the tip to the page and ..... stared.

What her constellation would do. What would it do? She really wasn't sure. Her textbook wasn't of much help either. But the Professor had said theorize, hadn't he?

She ruffled the feather of her quill under her nose in thought. Well, it was a crane for starters. A bird, long legged and long necked. It could help wizards, but how? Her eyes slid to her wand, a thought forming.

With a small smile, she hunched over her paper and began to scribble.

SPOILER!!: Grus

The constellation Grus, is representative of a crane. The crane is a bird with long legs and a long neck, that relies on balance to move and feed properly. They are often depicted as standing with one leg off the ground, or in deep water. This requires balance, a lot of it. For a tall bird, with most of its body mass up high, the crane must be able to move and maneuver with grace and skill and thus balance, in order to catch its food.

Grus similarly helps wizards and witches. It is a constellation that enhances balance, fluidity and grace. These three things are needed in a wizard and witches life. Not only are they essential to guiding a wizard or witch towards good or evil, but they are integral in the skill and casting ability of said magic wielder. Balance is often needed, in mind, body and emotions, in order to cast spells, and cast them effectively. For some wizards and witches, their wands won't work unless this balance is achieved. Therefore, the Grus constellation can help provide this balance.

It also helps in the fluidity and grace of a casting, making it flow easier from the wizard and witch both in utterance of the spell and in the formation of the spell. It helps to remove blocks and hindrances to the effectiveness of a spell. It is therefore useful for casting difficult or complex spells.

Beware though, as the crane depends on careful balance, so it can also cause unbalance. A reliance on the constellation to achieve balance, fluidity and grace may impair the caster from practicing and achieving that balance on his or her own. As such, the caster may back-peddle, being less able to control their own intentions and emotions when casting spells, and therefore being less effective at casting effective spells.

As the Grus constellation provides balance, so it must be used in balance.

Satisfied, Amur put her quill and books away, tied up her desk, and gathered up her pumpkin and her parchment. Blowing on the parchment as she walked up to the desk, she deposited both pumpkin and write-up in the appropriate spots.

Her attention turned towards the Professor. He wouldn't collapse once they had all left the room, right? No. He'd be okay. "Thanks for the lesson, Sir."
