Why was she surprised. He paused trying to decide if he should explain further or leave it there. But for some reason he felt like keeping this conversation going."Not to be rude, but my endurance level differs from ... say yours," Just a random example. Yeah he didn't understand half the things she just said. He did hear about Ravenclaws and their tongues and brains. "Technically I'd have been saved by magic," Pause. "But yeah preformed by a girl," He shrugged showing that it didn't annoy him .... much.

Glancing at the tree he started considering the possibilities and the scenarios. He wasn't in Gryffindor for a reason, so he wasn't just going to barge in. "I wouldn't mind giving it a shot," Probably not his best decision.
