Not at all and the Professor merely retracted his arm, folding both across his chest while he fixed the boy with an unamused and unimpressed expression and a roll of his eyes. Even after the door opened, he didn't ease off the door frame but kept leaning and watching as his face slipped into an unreadable expression.
In some ways, the Ancient Runes Professor's entrance might have just saved the boy some heart ache because Maddox was likely to have vanished his wand into non-being, have him wishing he'd handed it over as directed
So there he stood silently against the door's frame, listening to the small lecture on his behaviour. Maddox was beyond that point. He'd said what he had to during class. They all already knew what he thought of their behaviour so this...this little act of defiance..."It's getting old." Said once Botros had done his piece.

Maddox idly worked at the tension building in his neck and shoulder, seeming to ignore the boy for a moment with avid disinterest before he finally stepped further into the room. "You'll have to find some other means of gaining my attention. This one's washed up." And with that settled and another flick of his wand the room was suddenly crawling with roaches and slugs. By this point Maddox had made a barrier around himself and Botros but they were crawling all over the boy. Strange enough, none went further than his ankle.....yet. "Are you ready to behave and complete the task we'll set for you?" Or did he need another lecture from the elderly man before they actually began.
