Benny sent Angel a small smile of acknowledgement when he noticed her gaze falling in his direction. Surely she would understand if she knew, but then she already understood the fact that he didn't always sit with her. The fifth year tended to try to split up his time with either of them to avoid any look of favoritism in any way. He didn't want a repeat of the first year he had both when Adi had felt out of it.
He almost questioned the thanks but caught on a second later. The sentiment was for staying with him when he wasn't in the greatest mood. The Gryffindor got a better taste of his best friend's mood in the less than jovial tone he w as greeted with which wasn't quite up to snuff with the usual Aditya Rehman. "You're welcome," Ben answered simply, offering one of his rarer smiles to the other boy in hopes to offer some comfort for him.
