Her best friend got a smile and a playful poke to his side before her attention was first caught by the orange pumpkins on their desks - okay, that wasn't terribly abnormal - then directed her attention to the man at the front of the classroom.
And she giggled.
"Hi, professor," she greeted her best friend for one day last term, amusement apparent on her features as she recalled that day. "Nice day, isn't it?" Autumn was LOVELY, it was, but the comment was more of a forced remark of small talk to keep her composure. Alllllllllways funny, it would be.
