As Kace realized what he said, he might have spooked the kid. I mean the wide eyes didn't give it away. Merlin he really did seem scared, he backed away from the lake's edge.

There is a giant squid in there. I am warning you so you won't be totally scared when you see him for the first time."

"Well you will see him more in the summer when you swim in the lake. He is friendly and you hardly notice he is there." he told him. Does he eat people? He shook his head and said,
