Amur. That was a nice and unique name. "Pretty name." Had she introduced herself yet? Her mind went completely blank. Deciding to play it safe she slyly reiterated it, just in case. "Well, Amur, anytime you need anything you just remember that I'm AJ." Was that slick? Either way she knew her name, and that was the whole point.

Amur blushed at the girl's compliment. She had never thought her name particularly pretty. Weird and uncommon, like most of her family's names, but not pretty. She wanted to ask if the girl really thought so, just to make sure but she stifled the urge. If she said it was pretty, then she was going to take it at face value.

"Thank you. And thank you." Yes, much thank-yous. "I won't forget. AJ." She was sure whatever the initials stood for, it was pretty and matched the girl's friendly personality.

Actually, come to think of it, she could use her help right now, yes she could. "Do...do you know who the Charms Professor is?" She had a broken book she needed fixed, sooner rather than later too.

SPOILER!!: Zekesters and Prof Aiery, we see you seeing us :)

He'd watched her sorting, but couldn't remember. It was one of those WEIRD names, meaning, one he'd never heard before tonight.

Zeke plucked a chocolate frog pack for himself and set about opening it, ready to snag the chocolate - he'd had enough of he five... ten... fifteen second rule. Bloody things.

Her name...it was on the tip of his tongue... but he was drawing a blank at the moment and would have to try and oh-so-casually listen in on her conversations with others to figure it out. He was rather embarrassed that he had misplaced her name in his memory considering how intently he had been watching the Sorting...before a certain professor had gone all feline monster on him that is.

Which meant he had not been able to enjoy very much of the ceremony.

She was just finishing tucking the last frog up her sleeve when the kid who had taken the first plunge over the balcony and lived to tell the tale, the kid-that-had-lived, slid up to the table and the slightly depleted bowl of chocolate frogs. His words caused her to jump a little in surprise, heat rushing to her cheeks.

Of course someone was bound to see her, she hadn't been very discrete after all, but for some reason she hadn't considered that someone would. Cautiously, she eyed the boy, trying to discern if he was mocking, challenging or honestly inquiring. She knew boys who thought that girls couldn't match them in many things: running, sports, strength, eating and sleeping. She also knew that she could prove a few of them wrong on a select few of those accounts, notably the later ones. Was this boy one of those types of boys? Was it a challenge?

Seeing no glint in his eye, but rather a steadfast concentration on his own frog package, Amur concluded that curiosity must have been his motivator. She shook her head. "No. They're for later. They're my arsenal."

Rather proud of the fact, she patted her arm to make sure the frogs would stay in place before poking a thumb over her shoulder at the Prefects and the house elf. Zander still seemed to be notably perturbed, but PP seemed to have come to the same conclusion as she herself had. "Chocolate frogs, or any chocolate really, is a great peacekeeper and tension-smoother. If used right, it has the potential to solve problems before they even become problems."

Did he get it?

She had turned to face him, to see if he had reached full comprehension or not, when she found that strange, fascinating and terrifying man staring at her. Her eyes went as wide as saucers, her hand pausing right in the middle of pulling one last frog from the bowl. Had he seen her? At the table? Stuffing frogs up her sleeves?

Was that what that salute and smile meant? Was she in for it? She should have known better! After all, the cookie incident had nearly gotten her in trouble with Tippin.

Inching her way over to the boy, Amur squeaked between him and the table, as the Professor hiding herself behind him like a squirrel trying to hide on the opposite side of a tree from a predator. There was enough room between the boy's arm and his side to peek out from to check if the Professor was still watching her, and check she did.
