Caleb grinned and nodded, then made the zipper motion over his lips to show that his secret was safe with him. Clearly, Gabe wanted to move along from that conversation, so he sighed and nodded once more when he brought up History of Magic.
"It's the worst. I figure this is the one exam - well, maybe Arithmancy too - that I'll have to study for wayyyy in advance. Clearly," he chuckled, since it was still September and OWLs were months away.
"So...how's the badge? Treating you better than Bev and I, I hope," he grumbled, referring to the obvious LACK of Slytherin points right now.
"If you....ever need some help studying...With either History or Arithmancy....I could...you know, help?" Gabe was nervous about the offer...but hopefully Caleb would have sense enough to know he wasn't poking fun at him. Why not assist when they were two of his best subjects?
...and Caleb wasn't a girl. So, the likelihood of being distracted or reduced to a anxious, jittery mess was slim. Bright side?
