No way, Sir. The gang was back together and in their old common room, no less! This. was. epic. "Let's hope they have some good food, eh!" Never mind that they'd only JUST finished eating, she was ready for round two! She just DIDN'T get full. It was some sort of gift, honestly. Meredith nudged the man next to her as she complimented her way past the Fat Lady and into the common room. "ROAR ROAR GRYFFINDORRRRR!"
...Aren't you glad you invited us, Airey? Quote:

The thought of food had him perking up a little though considering he'd skipped most of the feast --bloody sulking Ravenclaw making him feel bad. He'd probably have to fix it, later. "Looks good from where I'm standing." The food that is. "And look, Airey's trying to kill the children, less to teach." Brilliant, no?
Maddox watched one particularly eager lion (Kevin) asking how things worked. "It's magic. You jump and hope the rope dives down to save you after. It's 50/50 but roar Gryffindor, right?" Quote:

Did that newbie professor think he was stupid or something? He might not be a Ravenclaw but he wasn't dumb either. "Really now?" he answered sarcastically and grinned. "Oh but as a new Professor you probably don't know this but it is tradition to let them go first" without another word he jumped back in to the room and grabbed his arm. "Right AJ?" he asked her. He could use some help with trying to scare the man. Quote:

No, last time he checked EVERYONE had just come from the feast, but that didn’t mean that everyone else felt entitled to act as grumpy as this guy. Zander understood more than anyone how time alone and away from people was necessary, but if this grumpy Gryffindor felt that way, there was plenty of quiet and alone up in the dormitories. Merlin forbid he had to actual walk up stairs. Wow. Life was a real struggle today for this kid, huh? Stairs. As in moving feet. Okay.
If only he knew what a day Zander had gone through. Being the center of all the new buzzing rumors, living with the constant terror that his dormmate would just pounce on him at any second, having to talk to everyone in sight. But he walked up the stairs too, but you didn’t see him raining on everyone else’s parade. Except for this kid’s of course, but he deserved it. He did it first. “Just because you’re tired, doesn’t mean you have to sit here yawning rudely. There was work put into this and even if it’s not your cup of tea, a little respect would be nice, no need to participate in the bungee. The Professors did this for us.” But before he could even finish with what he was in the middle of saying, the boy stood up and walked away. And then COMPLAINED about him to his CoPrefect. As if Puck would even take the grumpy boy’s side. If anything, Puck would be just as angered by the rudeness he showed by obviously mocking the event with his yawning. If he was tired, it was understandable. But really, no need to go making a mockery of the event. Younger students were impressionable and if they saw this boy acting all bored, they’d follow suite, defeating the entire purpose of this fun welcome event.
Though he was left frustrated with that horrible interaction, he couldn’t help but feel completely awful about the way the younger boy had stormed off. It was the first day and he had already done his job wrong. Well… maybe wrong. Actually, he wasn’t sure how he was supposed to behave in that situation come to think of it. Except, he probably wasn’t supposed to have people storming away from him. The look of disappointment on his face was probably clearly visible and he was so caught up with what had just happened, that he sort of lost sight of what was going on around him for a moment. But only a moment, because he finally noticed Amur standing in front of him on her tip-toes… Trying to put something in his pocket? The Gryffindor gave her a weak smile, and bent down properly so that she could reach his height. And then she was off. Off to talk to the boy.
And he couldn’t do anything but just watch the interaction take place. Though he didn’t know what she could have been saying to him…. He strangely trusted her. Maybe it was because of the reassuring look…. and oh, a chocolate frog?? Merlin, he really needed this right now. "Did I screw that up?" he asked the fellow Prefect, looking back over at the boy who was now almost all the way up the stairs. He really did, hadn't he? And here he was, sticking up for once... And look at the trouble it brought. There was really no way to win here. If he just let people do what they wanted, then chaos would ensue. But if he put his foot down, people would storm away. Where was the middle ground here? And why couldn't they just hand out a manual on how to handle all these situations.
He did perk up a bit at the 'awesomely Gryffindor' comment, though. Even if they hadn't done the majority of the work, they still did share a small, tinsy bit of the event planning. And it felt good to see that everyone, well almost everyone, was seemingly enjoying it. Not to mention, the place had never looked any better!! "Yeah, I love it," he mused. But something she had said, struck him. Rounds?! Rounds were hardly relaxing!! "Well... I was thinking maybe sneaking off later tonight, for actual relaxation. Not any of that Prefect stuff quite yet. We haven't assigned rounds yet, have we?" He was praying to Merlin right now. This day could not go any further down hill. Just one night without the responsibility of rounds. Please. Just one night to relax. "Or... Or maybe we don't have to leave the common room? We could just sneak back down here once everyone's in bed. Sit in front of the fire place... And not think about Prefect things for a few hours?" And if she didn't want to join, it wasn't a big deal. Actually, maybe it'd be even better if there was some time he could have alone and NOT in Bart's plain sight. Uh. Yeah. Fun summer.... It was all fun and games, really, until people found about that one day in particular. And then rumors rumors rumors which were only partially true. But he would just forget about that bit because there was no way he'd talk to Professors about that. Apparently the ghosts were avid rumor spreaders, so who's to say that Professors weren't the same? But right. Anyways. She had asked a question, hadn't she? "Oh, yeah... Uh, summer was great," he began to ease up at her warm smile. At least it didn't look like she held grudges. "I got to see Kevin a couple of times.... And I bought a cruppy!" Really he hadn't seen Kevin all too much, but thanks to the mirrors, there were weekly conversations so it was all good. And the crup thing was always a conversation starter, so you know... Banking on that one. Otherwise. Awkward. Awkward. Awkward. "Uh, did you do anything fun this summer, Professor?" Did Professor's even exist when school was out?Was that even a thing?
Just as he had began to make his way towards the snacks, he heard a familiar voice approaching and oooh, AJ! The other Valentine. It was strange really, he knew this one better than the other, yet, at the feast... He'd only seen her sister. But... That was probably due to the fact that Angel had been one of the first at the table and by the time most of the others came around... He was swarmed. #WARFLASHBACKS
Ahem. Seeing her outreached fist, he was hesitant at first, but then met it with his own. Fistbump. Yeah. He knew those. More of a high-five kind of guy, actually, but fist bumps were just fine 'hello's too. "Hi there," he smiled at the woah, very eager lion. And the badge thing. You know, it was actually very hard to forget that he was wearing one when so many people seemed to take notice of it. Though, he hoped that it would... lose it's glimmer soon because sometimes he kind of did want to forget. It was a bit nerve wracking, you know? The constant reminders and expectations. Not at all what he planned for. "Um, thanks, AJ... Means a lot," that she thought he deserved it. Though in all honesty, he wasn't sure if he agreed. Should have gone to Benny. But aaaaanyways, "...... What kind of important things?" he asked rather suspiciously and maybe just maybe, a little nervously too. Hopefully it wasn't about unicorns again because that side of AJ was a very scary side of Aj, okay? "The bungee?... Maybe... But once everyone else gets a chance," uh, yeah maybe not. "Are you?" Of course he already knew the answer. She was practically bouncing just at the sight of it. Oh. Who were they...? A little too old to be first years, right? And a little too new to be anything but... THE NEW PROFESSORS? Or no, two of the new Professors, technically speaking. And though he had been planning on stopping by before class to introduce himself, as it was necessary given the fact that OWLs and getting on good sides were completely necessary this term. Who knows, maybe they'd take pity on him and give him a few extra points 'cause he was a 'nice guy' to get that E he needed. Worth a shot, right?
So yuuuup. Making his way over to them right now, actually. "Hi, uh, I'm Zander Adair and you're uh, both new Professors this year, right?" He had seen them at the staff table, riiiiiiight? Just checking. Didn't need to be totally mortified here, people. Though, he couldn't remember what subjects they were in charge of. If it was Herbology, then he already had something against you, so hopefully not that one. Everything else was safe though. Heh. But, they didn't need to know that yet. "Welcome to Hogwarts by the way!" He would add a 'and Gryffindor' in there too, but if they were in the Common Room now, he figured they must've had some previous exposure to the house. So that would be saved for another time. Quote:

He was goin to have to find him a eatin to hang with since these two were pushing him out of their circle.
Walking further into the common room, he smiled popcorn and his stomach gave another tumble. Buttered popcorn was his favorite. Behind fried chicken of course.he grabbed a bg of popcorn and watched the commotion that was bungee jumping. He actually happened to do that this summer. He had cried like a little baby after it. But hey, try everything once!
Leaning against the wall, he munched on his popcorn. He watched everyone with a smile on his face. Being here gave him a sense of peace. Like being home. Quote:

... What? A house elf!? NOT JUST ANY HOUSE ELF!! A house elf with HIS chocolate frog! And he was being extra sneaky. That's right, Zander spotted you scurrying off yes he does. Kind of chasing the house elf now, he pointed at the chocolate, "Hey! That wasn't yours to take, you stole that from me," wait a minute. Hold the phone. Turn down the music. Everyone freeeeeze. The house elf took a bite!! A bite of his chocolate frog!
Well now, Zander didn't even want it anymore. Hmph. But still. He collected the cards and what was a House Elf going to do with the card anyways?! So yes. He'd want that back. And an apology. Quote:

AKA, barging them with questions. Some of little significance and others that were larger than life itself. Or at least, they were in his mind. "I do too, Professor," he replied, offering her a salute too. "You going to have a go on the bungee tonight?" Brave DADA Professor and all, right? RIGHT? Weeheee! Weehee! New dude agreed to their terms! Awesome. "Thanks man, I'm Zeke by the way," he added politely, extending a hand to bro-shake. Yep. They were part of a House FAMILY now, and the older ones had to make sacrifices for the younger ones right? Like how he and Ashley made sacrifices for Avery at home. He heard a SUP ZEKE? and turned to see AJ there. Grinning was kind of constantly happening tonight, so his features didn't change at the sight of her, they just remained there, which was a good thing. "Not much, yet," he answered with a half shrug, "gonna have a turn on the bungee soon though, you doing it too?" Cause it looked AWESOME!! And there were the magic words. Soon magical. Take it, Zeke. TAKE IT! TAKE IT! He was going to take it... definitely. Yep. "Thanks, Puck." When additional guests rocked up, he looked back to the bungee stations. It was his turn now yes? He was under the impression it was... so without further ado, while others were 'busy' he helped himself to the harness, and let it strap him in and snug and stuff... and he tested it by pulling in parts to see if it would give. It didn't. So....... WEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!
Zeke - spread eagle, launched himself from the tower. Halfway down his voice could be heard, yelling more than actually singing - he couldn't sing, even if he had both feet on the ground. "I'M FREEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE.... FREEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE FALLLLLLLLLIN----GAH!" Reaching the bottom, he jerked back up. And that was just as amazing as going down. The wind in his hair, in his ears, everywhere, and the castle grounds... and the lake, and the ... well.... okay, granted, he couldn't SEE the moon at the minute, but he was sure that looked pretty too.
Eventually, he bungee returned him to the platform, and the windswept second year, drunk with giddiness stumbled back into the common room, fists raised in triumph! "That was awesome." Quote:

She stepped back off the last step, seeing that the boy really wasn't having any of it, giving him a soft smile. There was still some hope, some that he would take her advice and try things again.
A distraction however, came from a rather chipper greeting behind her. Blinking, Amur turned about and as usual, had to tilt her head up to see who was speaking to her. She didn't know the girl's name, but she decided that on principle of her spry attitude, she liked her. Grinning up at the girl, Amur bobbed her head. "Thanks! I appreciate it, very much."
Did the girl know she'd likely have lots of questions? "I'm Amur Neverwinter." You know, just so she would know who would be a constant pester. And then she was off, greeting left right and center like a free house elf. A glance back up the stairs told her that Mr. Pink Shoes was no where in sight. A sigh dropped her shoulders as she turned fully back to the common room. Oh well. No sense in it spoiling the night.
She caught sight of Puck's grin, but it was only once the words reached her that her cheeks colored. She hadn't intended anyone to hear what she had said to Mr. Pink Shoes. There must have been an echo. After all, the walls were made of stone. Not that it really mattered, the truth was the truth was the truth.
Amur nodded to Puck's words, confirming with a 'he certainly does' as she glanced about the room to see how Prefect Zander was fairing. He had looked rather downtrodden when she had left him at the couches. Now, he was .... Amur did a double take. Was he scolding a house elf?
Standing on her tipie-toes to try and see around the students, Amur blinked, rubbed her eyes and upon seeing the house elf eating the chocolate frog that must have been Zanders, else why would they be as they were, ambled back to the food tables. It was decided. She was going to need a bigger arsenal of chocolate frogs. Once at the table, Amur glanced up and down it, considering her options. Ultimately the frogs were the best pick. They weren't sticky or bulky and from experience they already fit up her sleeve quite nicely. They would serve in a pinch, and were a much better peace offering than Kleenexes or punching bags.
Gathering up another two more, Amur carefully wrapped them in napkins before beginning to tuck them up her sleeve with the other two. It was upon stuffing the first up her sleeve that she noticed a boy leaning rather casually against the wall, munching away. Errr...she poked the frog up a bit more before pointing at the pumpkin pasties.
"Those are reaaaally super good too." Yup.
Her attention slipped to the window where the first of the first students went, or rather fell, off the balcony his hollering echoing about the room. That did look like fun...but no. She had business to attend to, so she finished stuffing the frogs up her sleeves and grabbed two more from the table.
She. Was. Loaded. Quote:

"But Toddles shouldn't take without permission," if the house elf had just asked, no okay... Zander still probably wouldn't have given the chocolate up right away. But could you blame him?! Chocolate frogs were his absolute favorites!!
But still. He tried his best not to sound angry, nor annoyed because he was keeping his promise to Amur in mind. So if she did see anything going on between himself and the small creature, there would be nothing to get upset about. Just having a civilized conversation in which newly Prefected resident Gryffindor teaches a thief House Elf manners. That was all. "Anyways... Now that you've already bitten out of it.. I don't really want it anymore, so I guess you can keep it..." He was being the bigger person here. Figuratively. And literally too, of course. "But can I have the trading card back?" Puck chuckled when she saw two Professors show up into the and just blinked. What on earth? Did the Professors not have their own places to sleep? Where they going to be living with their Professors now? She wondered and glanced at the two of them smiling. “Hello Professors….” She didn’t know their names really yet but she still was smiling at them.
Puck was standing close to AJ when Kevin walked over. “Hey Kevin right…?” She grinned “welcome back!” She grinned and handed a small box over to him a box filled with nothing conspicuous of course…just an undetectably extended box full of decoy detonators. “I think these might be useful during the term, I couldn’t…use them really” she shrugged and then shrugged and glanced to Zander.
“No, no you didn’t screw up” Puck honestly spoke. Yes, Silas was upset and had a point but Zander had been trying to defend himself. Oh…he had meant relaxing together and bonding. That sounded like a good idea actually.
“Yes. That sounds like a good idea” she nodded and chuckled still simply holding onto her marshmallow covered thing. “We should stash some cupcakes and marshmallows somewhere and have like a s’mores party” she shrugged and grinned over to him. “Fireplace and talking about fun things or we could even conjure a projector and watch a movie or something…or just play wizard chess or something in the game section” she grinned over to Zander.
Zander seemed to get very embarrassed when people brought up the summer. Right…she needed to figure this out right? But first, maybe she should tell him to just breathe and try not to turn into a tomato? Maybe. She was going to do it. Lowering her voice she whispered “Zander…you know that you kind of go red when people bring up the summer…like Tomato red if you want I can…” casually she glanced to Zander again then looked toward Chance.
“Hey Chance.” She grinned completely unaware that someone had popped into the room and stolen not only her marshmallows but Zander’s chocolates. That is until Zander spoke up. There wasn’t a stick in her hand. HER CINNAMON-MARSHMALLOW! She frowned and glaaaared at Toddles. “not cool house elf not cool” she groaned and rolled her eyes.
“You are very welcome Zeke!” Puck grinned over to him, and watched as Zeke jumped off of the platform while singing this kid was cool she liked him. He had minion potential. Zander had caught Toddles! HA!
“YES! You Got…he ate it!” Puck frowned at the House elf and sighed. “Toddles that isn’t nice of you. You could have ASKED” she frowned some more before glancing at Amur and then to Zander. “Toddles you can’t steal peoples food and eat it,” Puck sighed and walked closer to the unfolding scene. Puck reached into her pocket and carefully dropped a chocolate frog box, the one little Claire had put there into Zander’s pocket. But then the words the questions about he trading cards and Toddles not seeing it made her laugh he had eaten the card hadn’t he….”we’ll have to wait until he poops.” She casually mentioned laughing. “I’ll…repair it for you” she laughed again. She carefully put a hand on Zander’s shoulder and mentioned a quick. “Thank you for ugh…trying to teach Toddles not to steal other people’s food.” She smiled, was immediately awkward…not awkward at all really. As she leaned over and gave him a quick kiss on the cheek before turning slightly more red than usual but SHE was a girl she could always lie and say she was wearing make-up which she was.
