For a PLETHORA of reasons, Dima had not traversed to the Vegetable Patch before.

1. Vegetables were nasty.
2. Being surrounded by all those vegetables made him nauseous.
3. He liked fruit, but the presence of the veggies overpowered him.
4. Vegetables vegetables vegetables.
5. Did he mention vegetables were not his thing?

But, as the little area of the grounds was one of the few places accessible to the thirteen year old that he had not explored, Dima had made it his mission to visit it. And visiting he was... only for a few minutes, though, because those ever-growing terrors were giving him the heebie jeebies.
