Approaching the door, he gave a few short knocks then stood there waiting. In the mean time he could have opted to sit but thought of the effort in getting back up the moment the door opened. Hardly worth it as you can imagine so standing it was.
Probably should have told her he was stopping by first, so she'd know to expect him and be here...
