| ½ EagleBrain ♥ Creeperdoodle ♥ Raven Dor ♥ Berry ♥ ½ Team House Elf SPOILER!!: Pssshhhh, she'd bark, but she wouldn't bite. Remember how she CARES about him? Mmmhmm Quote:

He confirmed with a solemn nod of his head before finally biting into his own BLT. Granted, he'd already heard an EARFUL this morning but it could hardly be credited under the circumstances and it wasn't what he was fishing for anyway. It couldn't have been SO awful saying all that stuff, unless she thought so. More staring. Might just have been a bad case of curiosity, which admittedly didn't usually end well but....
The hand raise prevented any further elaboration on his part. In the meantime he helped himself to another bite. Still plenty of time before they had to head back. Gavin could wait.
His chewing came to an abrupt stop when she finally did speak and it was his term to ask for a time out as he took a swig of his drink to forcefully wash the food down. Freaked. That. Yeah........................................ "Uh...Let's just say everything was amusing til you hit the proposal bit." Serious stuff even within the joke. When your girlfriend brought that up, it was time to fix her, no questions asked and that's what he did. Surely she wouldn't have wanted him to leave her be after that. The sandwich wasn't bad, lacking seasoning perhaps, and it was skimpy on the mayo... otherwise, it was passable. Taking it up again, Emily took another measured bite from it, this time savouring the flavour a little longer while she processed their conversation, or lack there of.
He did want to know? No. He liked the idea of knowing, he didn't want to know. Surely. As much as being privy to her thoughts would be like opening up Pandora's box, these were things that she didn't particularly want to face either, and more so because she had the tendency to easily over-complicate things, when they needn't be analysed so deeply. It was a stupid prank and the boy would pay, that was it.
That word though, was an unwelcome one. And the act of it left a bitter aftertaste in her mouth - still. Proposal. Emily could empathise with Gavin on that point, sure it may have been amusing up until then - only she hadn't found any of it amusing at all. Still, it was hard to shake his expression from that moment. "I guess," was all she could say to that. What else could she have expected, really? "I think we need to forget that ever happened."
