Thus...looking weirder.
Sigh.
"Oh--I--yeah--I've always wanted to figure one out--" she said softly, holding out her hand for it. She wanted to TRY. "Can ...I?" she asked, smiling more...in a friendly way now. "I think I can get ONE side the same color--" she'd done that plenty of times. Not that that was anything to brag about, but whatever. "So--what year are you?" she asked casually, trying to make conversation.
Eden typically got along with the younger students. And she just thought they were all so cute. Adorable. INNOCENT. And funny. And also wise. A lot wiser than she felt.
Brian squinted at her as she glanced at the compartment door. Did he scare her off or something? Oh, okay, she was staying. "It's nice to meet you too, Eden," he said, about to shake the hand she offered when she took it back. WHY would she do that? Honestly, he was starting to wonder about her sanity. He was pretty worried about his sanity too, for that matter. Trust his luck that he met such weird people.
"Yeah, of course," he said, handing it over to her and smiling a little.
"It's a start. We all have to start somewhere, right?" She could get one or two colours in and he could finish it up for her. Or he could get the other one out of his bag, but that involved some amount of effort. Maybe he'd just settle for watching her solve the cube. That sounded like a plan.
"First, actually."
