"Good evening," she repeated. "Welcome to the conclusion of the 2084-2085 school year. Congratulations are in place for Gryffindor, as they won both the Gobstones Championship AND the House Cup. Please applaud these high-achieving lions."
She paused for applause, applause, applesauce applause, determined to keep her remarks brief. The thought of applesauce now made her hungry.
"To those of you leaving us, for whatever reason: Hogwarts wishes you well in your future endeavors. Know that you will always have this place to call home. And with that, let us eat in peace and have a safe summer."
She clasped her hands together and the elf-made food magically appeared on the tables. Ah, such a nice sight. Annie smiled to herself and made her way back to her table. Some staffers from her end were still missing, if one truly missed them... Cossy was at a potions conference, she knew that, and Bellaire she had seen sitting with the Slytherins...whatever that was about... but Murdoch? Where was she? Did it matter? Eh. Also trains open!
ETA: What's up with Professor Airey? All hugging and stuff......

Back to the chorus of the song, for the umpteenth time because it was especially catchy, Airey and party (Sopie and Cutty) arrived at the Gryffindor table in true friendship style. Meaning that, naturally, Sophie was on Airey's back while one arm supported her there and his other hand was in Cutty's swaying back and forth.
"GOOD EVENING GRYFFINDOOOOOOOOOOOORS!" he roared enthuastically. "Now, before I get into my speech...may I please have a word with Alexa, Lottie, Toby, and Kace?" Oh wasn't this SO convient that the two Hufflepuffs were over here instead of at their own house tables? Not that he wouldn't have minded going over there as well. More friends to speak with and hug!
Speaking of hugs.
"Oh THERE you two are!" he manly squealed as he noticed Alexa and Lottie just a hop skip and a jump away from where he stood. Letting go of Cutty's hand and helping Sophie slip off his back. Without missing a beat, he approached the seventh years and gave them a biiiiiiiiiiiiiiiig hug from behind, squeezing them together so that his chin was rested on either of their shoulders and cheeks smushed up against one another.
Oh. Where did that funny feeling come from again? And...was that...mild embarrassment? Huh....odd..
