It's like when grown ups say eating sugar rots your teeth, my teeth are fine." Perfectly fine, he was sure of it. And, go figure an eating plants ACTUALLY ate men... and women? And, if Professor's got eaten, what chance did THEY have of surviving? Zeke was perhaps a little more aware of his surroundings now, just a little... a tad.
He hoped they'd been fed, cause he didn't want to become a meal, treats were of course, reasonable. Small offerings to compensate for them keeping their fingers and toes perhaps? Although... it might be interesting to lose a finger or two to plant. Could wizards grow back fingers and toes? They could grow back bones!
He happily took the bucket Lex held out for him, and beaming he jingled the bucket on its hinges. Weeeeeeeeeee. Come and get 'em fleshies! "Deal," he added, confirming he agreed with her terms. Of course, he still couldn't help but wonder... "Lex? If a plant ate your finger, couldn't you just have it grown back?" Was that a thing? Please say yes! "Magic can do anything, can't it?"
"Yup. Totally happened, all the way back in my First Year. Yanked the Professors right out of the classroom and nearly got the then Ravenclaw Quidditch Captain." But that was Milton's fault. It was always Milton's fault because he was so stupid and made himself nearly die a lot.
Maybe she missed him too.
"And that's the dumbest thing adults say. I live on candy and all 32 are still perfectly functioning and hole free." She'd have shown him but they couldn't see anyway.
Lex was marginally relieved at the fact he so readily agreed to hand over the bucket if anything fishy were to come about. Least he wasn't the hard headed kind. Merlin, she was inclined to
let that sort get eaten, even if she had to feed them to the plant herself.
She turned slightly at his question before facing forward again.
"No...it doesn't quite work like that. See, bones are good on the regrowth scale but not appendages and such. It's like...losing a head...only on your hand." Don't ask her, she wasn't training to be a Healer or nothing.
"Just don't get anything eaten--'cept the meat in the bucket."
Hey wait a minute...in the dim light the moon provided through the glass walls she was almost sure...she saw....
"A snargaluff. Look." She pointed to the stump that looked hardly menacing.
"It'll swallow you whole if you let it." Could crawl inside too so long as you got someone to pull you out after.
