Maddie DID look at him after he finished, eyes narrowed. She felt herself growing angry and she didn't like that he was able to get a rise out of her so she quickly averted her gaze and took a deep breath. If he was going to lie, she could too. They'd see who broke first. It'd be an experiment. The thought made her calm down almost immediately.

"I found someone to kiss." This wasn't true, of course. It seemed like the best thing to say, though. Especially since he seemed to be avoiding the subject of their last conversation. "I think I'll find him today and test my theory. So yeah, that's what I've been up to." Casual, she was. "You?"
