Newton sighed as she stepped into the office. Her siblings had kept her up half the night, the only solace being that little Ophelia wasn't there to disturb the peace. And though the young adult wasn't a stickler for fun and enjoyed having a good time with the people she grew up with, did ~everyone~ have to decide to come home and celebrate Isaac's birthday at once? Having seven adults at home wasn't a problem, as they were all good company and the conversations were wonderful, but the combination of birthday fun and the sibling catch up didn't leave a lot of room for sleeping. Especially not when the poor blonde had to share a room with the loudest snorer among them, Marie. At least they woke her up early enough that she had time to make hot tea and run a shower. Because apparently, birthday cake wasn't so easy to get out of your nose. Yeah, birthday parties at the Clarke house were a weird event.
Making her way to her desk, the blonde ran a mental checklist of everything that she needed for today. Tea in an adorable little carry around mug. Check. Back up quill pens and ink. Check. Extra hair ties. Check. So far, everything was in order. And that was good enough for now. Because it was kind of early and the twenty one year old was pretty sure she was wearing her little sisters dress. At least it fit. Maybe the eldest Clarke child would casually hide it in the back of her closet and 'forget' to give it to the other girl when it was time to leave. It would end up in the other's hands, though maybe at Christmas or New Years when the time was right and the giving spirit was in the air. except not right now. Newton wasn't exactly feeling giving right now. And she wanted the dress for herself. Sorry kid.
Taking a sip of her tea, she realized that somehow sugar had missed the equation completely in the hectic rush that had been getting everyone off to work this morning. Pursing her cheeks in the same way you did when you sucked on a lemon, the blue eyed girl decided to give up on the tea and find a way to get her brother to make her another glass. Just because she was the oldest didn't mean that Newton couldn't play the pouty card. Sometimes the pouty face worked wonders. Being the oldest in a homeschooled family of several children meant that you learned the tricks of the trade before you were out of diapers. Anyway, working. That was something that had to be done today.
