Okay, where to start? ......Better go staight to business. "Sir, I came here because I was given this... poem" Did she believe it was a poem? She wan't sure, but since the boy had said 'poem' she'd go with that for now. "but I don't know what it means." She placed the piece of parchment on his desk in front of him and smoothed it to make sure it was perfectly readable.
She didn't know whether it was upside down or not. She had no clue as to how to even start reading that. "I don't know what language this is either. I was wondering if you could tell me what it says." She was a polite snake, Botros could easily see that in the way she talked and walked. But then again, who was not polite to an old man such as himself, it was a rule even the rudest student followed for some reason; Never rude to the old professor.
... then things got interesting. Ab's thick grey eyebrows were raised in surprise as she handed him the small piece of parchment. He took it from on top of his desk and stared at the said poem. It wasn't English, and it sure as heck wasn't Runic either. It was a poem, though, a love poem and if his memory served him right, he'd heard it somewhere else. A chuckle escaped his lips, "Well." He set the parchment back on the desk and leaned back in his rocking chair, folding his hands on his big belly. "Who gave it to you? And you mentioned you were a fourth year?" Gotta make sure she was old enough to hear those words. Fourteen or fifteen was not old enough in his book, she should be around thirty to consider hearing those lovely words. Yup.
So he remained blissfully silent. |
