Oh great, did he really have to give a full explanation on their findings now???? Couldn't he just get new samples to work with and disappear to his lab and get things done???

He turned to the Senior Botanist and tried his best to speak in an audible tone without mumbling. He didn't want to have to repeat himself. "Glumbumble treacle by itself won't fix the problem. The substance that caused the mutantion was lab developed and also used Alihotsy." He told her and hoped the Creatures Deparment Head was listening because he had just answered one of her questions too. That basically meant Glumbumble treacle wouldn't work on its own. "We need a..." He scratched the side of his head and quickly dropped his hand to his side again. "...something new." A new breed, possibly. He was no botanist but "I can show you the other ingredients that we know about." The woman would probably be able to help them if she knew what they needed to go against, he supposed.
Merlin, that was the most he had spoken up in... a very long time. Time to stop.
Anyhow, was the distressed redhead let them take more-- oh, she would. Good. Derek went ahead and put his gloves on. After a moment of hesitation, he approached the creatures - which was more complicated this time because people were near them. At least most of them were immobilised, so it wasn't as ridiculously complicated to take blood and drool samples this time.
