Tiffany almost felt her heart skip a beat at the sight of his dimples— no. She was in a professional setting being totally professional and now. If anything, Ezra’s heart should be skipping a beat. So right on cue, she softly bit her lower lip and gave him a small smile as well. There. Now ahem, the meeting. That’s why she was here. Right. Not to get into some sort of competition with some, ahem, some guy within the same department. There’d be other chances for that. Ahem. Right, she put her fullest, sort of, attention back to Mr. Isaacs.
Still sparing occasional glances to the others. Like the two men beside her. Just to see how they were reacting, nothing more. And don’t think she missed that traveling glance, Ezra. Was he checking her out? Of course he was, it wasn’t unusual… Happened all the time back at Witch Weekly, or at least on her way to the HQ. After noticing that he turned away, through her peripheral vision, she casually flicked her eyes over to him. Merlin, how’d he keep his hair so perfect? Automatically, she felt one hand make it’s way to her own hair, trying to make sure that it was kept neat as well. Probably not as crisp as his, but it was a valiant effort (and a generous amount of ‘No-Tangles-No-Problem’).
So it wasn’t really surprising that she missed the portion about the specialty areas. If she had heard they were bringing in a daycare, she would’ve flipped. If there was one thing that got on Tiffany’s nerves more than the rest, it was babies. They were the worst. Ugh. All they did was cry and get stains on your new Louis Vuitton special editions. What a travesty!! Total outrage. Children were clearly the work of someone totally evil, like Voldemort- NO worse! Like the creators of tube socks and hair scrunchies! But uh, thank Merlin that she wouldn’t have to work for the daycare, right?… That wasn’t an Advisor’s job… Right?
But of course when the Minister spoke again, her head turned to him immediately. In fact, he was probably one of the people she would listen to in any situation here. The Under Secretary had her respect too, but the Minister, well he was THE guy, you know? Always important to keep him impressed. She waited somewhat impatiently- Minister of Magic or not, her time was precious- and smiled a little when he finally spoke. Of course they would be the first to know. The were only the MOST important people in this entire building. Well, maybe not the others, but Tiffany was certainly among them. She just knew. But then, as if she had just witnessed the death of Coco herself. It was tragic. He was… Leaving? ”What?!” and no sooner had the words left her mouth that she slapped a hand over it. Oops.
It’s just that he was such a cool Minister. Not like what you would imagine and she had only worked under him for a year!! What if the next one was horrible and rude and didn’t even have a sense of style!? No. That was the worst case. Fashion first. That had to be a requirement on the application or something. Had to. But still. ”I mean, like the others said, it’s truly been a pleasure and this year will be the best one yet, we won’t let you down,” Totally recovered.
