Reinforcements! Emmalee breathed a sigh of relief, still cradling the mutant, when more people arrived. Someone would be taking this beastly thing out of her arms now, yes? Please.

Emmalee was still new enough to not know what was behind the looks being exchanged. But there was a word she did understand: plants.
Perking up, Emmalee turned to look at the men who had entered. "Did you say plants?" The Senior Botanist had catalogued what was in the greenhouses and what purposes, if any, the plants had been designated for herself and she could not recall the mention of mutants on any of them. She shifted on her feet, trying not to jostle the mutant too much. "If there's something in particular you need, please let me know and I can get it for you."
In other words, do not waltz into my greenhouse and just take it yourself.
