I didn't know her, but I knew of her and what she had been when she was here in England." he shook his head "I worked my bum off to get where I was there and I turned down MANY positions so I could stay in as ambassador there. I didn't have to stay in IMC, but I wanted to. I wanted to stay here because it's where I belong. Heck my skills are over and beyond. I could be in A&C or MLE but I chose IMC because I enjoy the work. I certainly don't stay here to deal with this kind of thing but it's part of the job and I'll do what I have to." He shook his head, Becca could tell Charles more about what he put into this job than he could. She was irritated so much by how much he was barely home.
"I respect that you turned down the raise for more space to give yourself more space. I can't see you being like Stephen wanting a work out room or jacuzzi. I just have absolutely NO idea how to give you that! Without making others demand for the exact same thing." He knew the guy was close to tears with frustration he'd seen the same look in his own eyes "SIT DOWN!" he exclaimed when the man went to move to stand up "I have asked you, countless times back in the work areas and here, WHAT do you want me to do? What do you suggest???"
"I think we should ask your wife what her take is on that." He spoke quietly when Gid tried to make it sound like he'd got her the job. He'd heard somewhat differently. When Gid started saying about him choosing the department, Charles shook his head. He'd chosen to be here too. He'd wanted to be interacting with people a little more and to be able to make an actual difference.
He sat back down when he was told to, but bowed his head so Gid couldn't see his face. "I've already asked about the bigger offices you mentioned. You ignored me."
