It was only as he spoke his question that she cottoned onto his unease. It was interesting how the smallest changes in language could rouse such suspicion. It was beautiful to see. A sign that he at least, was paying attention. "A more personal question would be more appropriate I think," she started as she lay back into her seat, her hands folding together in her lap. "Anyone who has read my file would know I was inducted into the YATI program in 2074 upon graduation from Hogwarts...." but of course, that did answer his question, yes?
Because she was a busy woman, Emily opted to press forward with the meeting she'd called.
"Don't be so surprised that I might actually like you, Legend," and yes, she was using his given name again. She'd have to desensitize him to it at some point. "And for that reason I thought I might check in on you, see how you're doing. Do you enjoy working here?"
Easy question that required an easy answer. He oughtn't have trouble with that one.
