So he wasn't planning on doing much this weekend.

Idly rubbing his thumb over Gabriel's, he turned, confused. "Fussy? What.. did you..."

His eyes rested on the book and he blinked a moment, taking it in his free hand. "...do?"Looking at it, then up at Gabe, then back down at it, he slipped his other hand free. "Gabe, it's.. I..." He broke into a wide grin and removed the bow. Flipping open the cover gingerly, his eyes scanned the pages. "This looks like such an early printing," he mused, smiling as he walked his fingers across the page.

Closing it, he set it on his lap. He reached up and put his hand on the back of Gabe's head. "Thank you," he said, before leaning in for a quick kiss. Pulling back, he let his hand fall on top of the book on his lap. "I love it. It's perfect." Tiberius had a brief moment of guilt that he didn't have anything for Gabriel, but it was fleeting. There wasn't really ever a sense of obligation when it came to gifts.

Even still. As he read through the chapter titles, smirking at how he might make use of some of the spells for a certain someone's birthday, he idly mused aloud. "If it's still here, I think the quill shop in town is lovely. We should get you some new sets, the way I'm sure you're working through quills and ink while I'm away."

Realizing that he could read at any time, he closed the book and turned his attention back to Gabe.

Picking it up with both hands, he handed it back to his husband. "Now put it back in your bag. I don't want to get anything on it!"

Alright. Someone was acting especially distracted and serious today. Gabriel didn't particularly care that the place was overrun with over eager teenagers and excess energy and really only minded the noise when he was trying to get some of his current manuscript done. "It really does not matter who is around ze village," he whispered. Seriously though. It didn't. "We came 'ere for us."

BINGO. There was the reaction he had been hoping for, along with what he could only assume was now the proper distraction from thoughts of having to 'share' their weekend retreat with teenagers. He seen the way the gears in Tibs' head working AND over-thinking about all of that. Time to stop thinking and just live in the moment, okay? Which was precisely what Gabriel was doing right now as his own thumb playfully fought with his husband's.

"Second edition," he beamed, although he did feel a tiny bit upset that he hadn't been able to get his hands on a first edition. Some things, when they went out of print, were just impossible to track down even with the proper literary connections. "But it's signed by the author on the inside. Made sure the proper enchantments are in place so things won't fade any further."

Gabriel had grinned just before Tibs had kissed him, so he hadn't been able to return it properly - like he had wanted - but it was perfectly alright seeing the way his face had lit up. Perhaps even some of that tension gone from his shoulders as well? He would check later. Heh.

"I certainly could use anuzzer ink well or two...or four," he chuckled as he took the book back and placed it gingerly into his bag. "And a man can nevair 'ave too many quills." There were one or two that he had snapped in half during one of his rare, and incredibly brief, moments of rage when writer's block struck.

Spotting something VERY special out of the corner of his eyes. "Well, look at zat," he said as he took Tibs' hands in his own and traced random patterns over the backs of them with his thumbs. "Remember when you proposed to me?" Rhetorical, naturally, because there was no way that that was an event that could ever be forgotten. Not even if an Obliviator tried their hand. "We should offer to buy them their first drink."
