Speaking about the man, Kevin decided to tell his friend about the meetings. "I'm uh..i'm actually going to have meetings with Culloden in the Room of Requirement. He said he wanted to help me out with my future potions career" yeah, that guy. The one who he never got along with was actually helping him out. "SO!" He turned to Zander, leaned forward and grabbed his shoulders, staring right in to his eyes. His own mismatched colored eyes stared at him intently. "This means that if you haven't seen me in over 24 hours you better come and check the room!" he shook him slightly and then released him.

"Oh...by the way, i've been meaning to ask something..." There was a sudden change in Kevin's attitude and he looked down at his lap for a moment. He had been wondering ever since he disgussed his friendship with the Head of House. "Why are you my friend?" he asked after a deep breath. "I mean...i was rude to you so many times and still you hang out with me...why?"

The Gryffindor thought about the question for a minute before shaking his head. There wasn't an egg yolk specific spell out there, was there? Unless... "Culloden uses some type of Evanesco or something to vanish bad potions sometimes?" Zander had never really tried it out, but maybe today shouldn't be the first time. Just 'cause the pair always had bad luck with spells in the dormitories. It was a pretty common occurrence. Like Kevin with the 'accio' and then just a few moments ago with that bird spell, or whatever he was going for. On second thought, maybe it was just Kevin with the bad luck here. "I could give it a go?" he offered. Wiping off his gooey-yolk-covered hand onto his robes, he chuckled at the skin thing.

Of course what Kevin said next took the older Gryffindor by surprise. His cheeks flushed red in embarrassment as he narrowed his eyes a little- a thing he picked up from Kevin by the way. "Yeah, well, he's horrible and deserves an egg in the face." Walton had called him a waste of time, four years old, AND a disgrace to Gryffindor. There was a reason why Zander hated the guy so much and it wasn't just 'cause he took ~~Beautiful~~ ahem, Bentley's job (well, mostly).

Zander DID notice the look of disbelief. But he couldn't tell Kevin the exact truth! He looked SO proud before. "Yeah... I guess I am pretty lucky," GRRRIIINNN? "I dunno," he shrugged "I think Culloden's just out to get me. You know, he threatened to take over my bed last term?" It had happened, okay? The threat. The guy never really showed up and that was a different story all together. "And stop with that voice, Kevin. You sound like my mother," it was kind of creepy actually. *SHIVER* Weird.

.......? Zander tilted his head when he noticed the softened look in Kevin's face. It looked like he was about to admit something big-- What? Meetings with Culloden in the Room of Requirement? WAS THAT EVEN ALLOWED? To give someone regular detent-- Help? Third year Gryffindor say whaaaaa? "You... He's... He's actually going to help you?" Since when did Culloden like Kevin? And how come he was apparently nice to EVERYONE except for Zander, HUH? The Gryffindor had just said the whole 'out to get him thing' to get Kevin off his back about the detention thing. BUT MAYBE Culloden was actually out to get Zander! Starting with taking all his friends!! HMPh. He'd have to keep an eye on that one. Zander was thrown off guard when Kevin grabbed his shoulders, but smiled nonetheless, "Don't worry, I'll come to the rescue if anything weird happens." They needed some form of communication too!!! LIKE OOOH Sophie had these mirror things she used with Toby, maybe they could get those?!

And then, what happened next was TOTALLY unexpected. All the sudden, something changed in Kevin's voice. The younger lion seemed to get more serious and Zander wasn't really sure what he was going to say next. O____O ? What? Zander genuinely thought for a few minutes, before looking back up at his friend. "Well... I... I guess when we first met... In the dormitory, well..." And he stopped to think again.

He glanced down at his lap briefly, before looking up. "A lot of people say I'm not a Gryffindor. Even Professor Walton thinks I don't deserve to be one... But that one time down in the dungeons-when we took the guilt potion?" Did Kevin remember that? It was kind of hard to forget... "You told me that I was a strong Gryffindor and that I could get through it... And, well, I did." Taking another moment to collect his thoughts, he began once more, "I know it's dumb, but that was the most Gryffindor I've ever felt... Overcoming that potion, even if it wasn't all the way.. And I want to be a Gryffindor. There's a reason why I'm in this house, just people don't really believe in me.... But you did, even if you were lying or something crazy, it got me to believe that I'm a Gryffindor..." his cheeks flushed a light pink and his hand instinctively went to mess with his hair before he stopped himself. Whether he would have admitted it before, Kevin made him feel more Gryffindor and that was the real reason why the older boy had stuck to him even through the rude attitude.

"You were on my list in Arithmancy." he admitted quickly.

But then, all the sudden realization stroke, and Zander looked up at his friend with a somewhat angered expression on his face. "Kevin.... why are you asking me this? Did someone say something to you?" He even unconsciously balled up his hand into a fist. If anyone had said anything to Kevin... Zander was ready to defend the boy through and through. Even when Lex had complained about him before. Kevin was his... his best mate!
