Water or any other liquid wasn't animal or plant, after all. "Last question, people!" he said excitedly to wake up those that were sleeping, "Name one ingredient and its effect." It wasn't so hard, was it? Then they could gooooo.
Gabriel flushed at the smile, ducking his head down. It felt rewarding AND comforting to finally be doing well in a class...and not freaking out and having a meltdown. Though, he'd never been able to help that bit. He was simply a lot smarter than what he'd been able to show these past couple of months...and it was frustrating to feel so limited.
He felt a sense of pride in this class. "Peppermint."...After another small hand!raise. "...I read in an old potions book that Professor Severus Snape discovered other uses for the plant besides flavoring sweets." Gabe paused as he tried to remember what exactly that discovery had been. "...Yes, it eliminated the side effects of the Elixir to Induce Euphoria potion when added. So, in theory, going off that evidence, peppermint would be able to soothe additional side effects, depending on the nature of the potion and what ingredients were already used within them....since you've already said that some ingredients cancel each other out."....or had he not said that? It was hard to keep track of what had been said to him...and what his thoughts alone had produced. The flush in his cheeks also deepen, Gabe having realized he'd been rambling quite a bit.
It was just....Peppermint was a favorite of his. He usually had some in his tea...It was very refreshing. SPOILER!!: Potions' notebook! Gabriel P. Banner
