Just a heads up. They couldn't get much business talk done in class but he needed to know that his pockets were going to be lined with galleons soon if no one found her bag.
As for scaring versus coercion...she'd opt for the latter. "Hmmmm....they aren't know for their intelligence but rather, their vanity. We'll make 'em wanna come to us." And with that decided, she reached into her pocket and fished out a small hand mirror she usually had for peering around corners when she'd left her kneazle up in her dorm. Lex had the sun's light reflect off it and onto the fairies drawing their attention and the moment they began their approach, she went perfectly still.
Naturally she expected Cutty to catch on as the little things fought to see their reflection in the mirror. It was a fairy frenzy. He need only immobilize or DIVE (if that was more his thing) for them before they had their fill of themselves.
A bigger mirror would help but someone had made off with her wand so this would have to do.
Alexa Cambridge was out of candy. Breathe Cutty. Alexa Cambrigde was out of candy. BREEEATHE.
"
We'll fix it, Lex. We'll fix it." Were Cutty's calm words of comfort after she'd explained her dilemma of having her alter-ego take over for...what was it? Like a week and a half or so. He'd write to his supplier that afternoon. He'd have to tell his mother that he'd joined Professor Morgan's cult anyway.
The subject of Lex's girlishness was something Cutty had to consciously remind himself of. The Headgirl was not a man. Case in point, she'd just produced a mirror from her person. Wandlessly he might add. She just had it on her and she knew how to work it, pulling in the light from the sun and flashing it toward the tiny winged creatures.
As they approached, preened and competed for a spot at the small surface of Lex's mirror he noticed the Headgirl becoming very still and began taking minute steps backward. His wand was clutched in his hand, braced by his forefinger and lifted so that if looking directly at him it nearly evenly split his face into two sections. Step after step he took until he was at a fair distance away from Lex and the fairies. He planned to stun them from an unnoticeable distance. And not hit Lex.
"
Immobulus!" He sent the first cast after the one elbowing two others who seemed to be taking up HER spot at the mirror. "
Immobulus! Immobulus! Immobulus!" Their positions made them practically fish in a barrel.
