Well... maybe not.
It was still fairly awkward. She held his arm over her shoulders, her other arm was around his waist and several little butterflies fluttered around inside her stomach. She looked up at him for a moment, silently before guiding him over to the seats. He was heavy. But you wouldn't hear that from her. She wasn't going to admit that. 'Cause she was helping him. That sort of comment wasn't going to help anyone.
She bit her lip and looked up at him again, "Are you feeling any better?"
Gabe had struggled the entire way. Not against CB....but against himself. The urges to bolt and run were STRONG...but the means to do so escaped him. There
was no running. What Gabe was now recognizing as a minor panic attack had left him incapable; having really knocked him on his backside.
...and that, paired with his embarrassment....Well, it was a relief he hadn't curled up in a ball (on the spot!) and cried. It could've happened. It had before. At home one time....after Gage had planted
things in his room; laughing in his stupid way...with his stupid lewd jokes...and his stupid face.
A tear tracked down Gabriel cheek.
...and CB was
touching him...Helping and supporting his weight. He was so uncomfortable...no matter if he DID like her. Yes, he did. Whatever....Not like he'd ever do anything about it. Truth of the matter was the he was just too....anxious...and scared. Terrified, really. CB was....brilliant....but Gabe couldn't handle things. Closeness. It was a fight to even speak with her at times...
with his personal space intact.
With her question, Gabe just shook his head; another tear falling.
