This girl has been slacking on her student duties to make friends with the professors and to welcome the new professors to Hogwarts. Emmylou wasn't trying to suck up to the professors to try and get a better grade in her classes she just wanted to know get to know them and to be able to trust them. This Gryffindor wasn't one to try and suck up because whatever grade she received was the grade that she deserve. The fourth year wasn't that great at all of the classes that are offered at Hogwarts but getting to know the professors can make her trust them more when she has to go to them and ask them questions about homework or their lessons.

Last term Emmylou hadn't even gotten to know some of the professors so now she had to pick up where she left off. It wasn't really her fault because last year was her first year at Hogwarts, she just felt overwhelmed and with all that wintery craziness going on and one of her best friends getting attacked she just couldn't even bare the thought of trying to forget about what was going on around her and visit anyone. She still had to meet the headmistress. Emmylou waited out in the waiting area for the Potions professor to tell her that she can speak to him
