Cassie sat in her chair still very relaxed, her usual bouncy self played fully down with her meditation she had been doing. She watched as the group thought about their moments and then start answering. Hearing Nessa shush a student a smile formed, her best friend and fellow professor knew the importance of staying focused. She had sat in on a few of these sessions before.

Sometimes their bodies are raised to do the caster's bidding. The latter is usually done by those practising dark magic," Samantha replied.
"You are very right. Necromancy is communicating. It has different forms of communicating which consist of just talking with a spirit or in some darker practices raising the body to do their bidding."

Even in her calm state Cassie chuckled at Zeke. She was so happy he decided to come and see what the club was about and what an exciting evening to come. "Mr. Kitridge doesn't understand Divinations and what it can do, that is why it creeps him out. I wish he would have taken me up on my invitation and joined us to see that it is not creepy, but fascinating and exciting." Her eyes scanned the table, but she knew he didn't show. It was probably good that the lighting was dim to hide the disappointment on her face.

More advanced stuff? Oh no... He would just have to focus as much as he could then. Crystal Ball reading had been hard enough. He thought of his accomplishments for the day. Er, he had gotten some homework done. Yep. That was an accomplishment to him considering that he had been feeling a bit on the lazy side today.

So...necromancy. "I think it's about communicating with the dead,'' the Puffer said raising a hand. Creepy much?
Cassie nodded towards Adi, "Yes, it is to communicate with the dead very good. What you communicate can sometimes not be up to you." That was the best part though, you never knew what you were going to get.

He just needed to figure out a way to exploit them without them knowing what was going on, but that wouldn't be hard of course. He was Rumplestiltskin - he could do it!

"Necromancy is, of course, the art of using the dead to predict the future. Or use them to do your bidding. I prefer the latter," he said with a smirk.
Looking towards Caleb she nodded, but stared at him a moment. She didn't know him well outside of class, but that comment just didn't seem like a normal one that a student would say to a professor. "You are correct Caleb. You can use the dead to predict the future, understand the past, or do bidding, but I would hope no one in this room would use that form since it is very much a use of dark arts." None of them were dark wizards now were they.

Necromancy? Wow Professor Cassie that was some pretty deep stuff. It sure was. She raised her hand "Communicating with the dead to predict the future." Something along those lines. She didn't want to sound repetitive with others answers.
"Yes very good Cinna. It is to communicate and possibly predict the future."

"Professor isn't that where you can use divination to communicate with the dead?" Angel asked. "Like in some places they have a church where you go and listen to someone communicating with the dead." Angel wasn't sure how much she liked that idea.
"Some places do that is correct, some such as muggles go to psychic's to try to communicate with their love ones that are not here anymore. Most what we know is the real fact that it is divination."

She got a partial answer and it would be something very advanced. When they were given their instructions about the alternative to snaps, Jasmine closed her eyes and tried to think positive and happy thoughts. At the same time, she tried to get her concentration and focus in order.

Then came the question about Necromancy. Jasmine knew a little about it and so it seemed did everyone else. Trying to think of something to add to the answers that had already been given, she raised her hand. "Necromancy can also involve communicating with the dead to discover hidden information." Is this what they would be doing today?
"That is very good, many people don't realize that. People use necromancy to find out things that just can not be found out. If the death is a mystery one could use necromancy to figure out what really happened. Some things in our past could just not make sense and this is a way to try and make sense of it." The professor herself used necromancy for this reason once.

He walked into the class and the first thing he heard was NECROMANCY?! Seriously? What in the name of Merlin?

Weirded out looks were what Grayson was currently wearing on his face as he walked over towards an empty seat and sat down. Because it WAS weird. Necromancy. Were they bringing up dead people or what? Channelling them? Asking them questions? If so, Grayson REFUSED to be haunted for the rest of his life by some ghost that was out to seek revenge or whatever.

You know what? He was gonna offer his thoughts. "What if the dead wants to be left alone?" Had nobody thought about THAT?! This was exactly why people in horror movies died: because they were so stupid and CARELESS. "And sorry for being late, Professor." He had no reason as to WHY he was late, actually. Nothing aside from pure, professional laziness.

And 'sup Glendower, we see you too.

Yeah. So. Dead people. The doing your bidding part sounded....... interesting. Uh huh.
Looking up hearing the door she watched as Grayson walked into the room and gave him a greeting smile. "Nice of you to join us Grayson." She wasn't caring about him being late as long as he just sat down and focused like he did. "Some do and those are ones that we never hear from. Just because we are trying to contact one doesn't mean it's going to happen. If a spirit doesn't want found you aren't going to find it. So people that say mean ones come are correct, but it is not because people did this and they did not want to come." There were just grumpy spirits just like people.

Looking around the room at all the faces she set the book she was holding back down on the floor. "As all of you have discussed Necromancy is a way to communicate with the dead. It is a practice that helps us find out things in the past as well as predict the future. As some of you also have mentioned a darker form of the practice is to actually raise the dead. Now as you can see I have no dead bodies in this room, so we will not be doing this form. Darker Wizards have used this to do their bidding and in my eyes it is very wrong." She gave a stern look at a few (Caleb) that might have thought otherwise.

"Now that we have discussed what it is, how do you think we get a spirit to come? What process do you think we do?" She was interested in what they thought were the steps in getting a spirit to visit.
