Post Daniel Radcliffe in new 'Horns' clip, new tidbits about casting in thriller

A new clip from Daniel Radcliffe's upcoming thriller Horns was released by its French publicity this week, and featured his character Ig Perrish talking to friend Lee, played by Max Minghella.

The U.S. distributors of the movie released a few tidbits about the actor's role in the film, and how Dan got the role in the first place.

Quote:
When Merrin (Juno Temple) turns up murdered under gruesome and mysterious circumstances, all things go to hell for Daniel Radcliffe’s character Ig… literally. Suspected of murdering his girlfriend, ostracized in his home town, and constantly hounded by the local media, things couldn’t get any worse for Ig. And then he grows horns. From here Ig must defend his innocence, search for the true killer, all while trying to avoid the demon he’s becoming.

If that’s not enough to get you in the theater this Halloween to see the “tragi-come-horrordey,” as author Joe Hill dubbed it, then here are some facts about Horns that might change your mind.

• Daniel Radcliffe had to learn how to drive a car while on the set of Horns. But didn’t do that great of a job – he wrecked a Gremlin while it was being towed by another car. Guess he was more used to the handling of his Nimbus 2000.
• He got into the character of Ig by listening to a two CD playlist (yes, he still uses CD’s) full of Metallica, Megadeth, Radiohead, Perfume Genius, and The Shivers.
• It doesn’t take long to make Daniel Radcliffe horn-y. The prosthetic horns only took about 20 minutes to apply each morning.
• Harry Potter fans delight – Daniel Radcliffe is still a parseltongue in Horns. In addition to the prosthetic horns, Ig also accessorizes with a 6 foot snake in the second half of the film.
• The author of the book on which the film is based has horror pumping through his blood. Joe Hill is the son of legendary author Stephen King.
• Daniel Radcliffe has been perfecting his accent since he was 6-years-old, when he would make his action figures speak like Americans.

Give yourself a treat this Halloween and see Horns when it hits theaters on October 31st.
