"Wonderful, insightful answers, students!" Nessa smiled widely at them all, approving of their input. Even the ones she thought were slightly off. "So we've learned that the trading cards could possibly be a marketing tool used by the candy manufacturer to increase sales, but that part isn't really what we are interested in for today's lesson." She did not teach business, marketing, or economics.. but if she did, this could make a great lesson as well!

"We are going to be focusing on another aspect that many of you brought up. There is a lot of historical and factual information on these cards regarding many important figures in magical history. One of the best parts of these cards is that it's a fun way to learn about history, without really knowing you're learning something!" And she just thought that was the best! Which was something she always tried to incorporate in her classes - having fun and learning something in the process. "And certainly you can make a game of it with the trading aspect. Trying to collect them all, trading with your friends.. learning in the process. And, just like someone had offered - the cards present the information in a fun, concise form. You aren't overwhelmed with information." And a lot of people learned best that way. "And not only that, but as a couple of you mentioned, they could even be inspiration." Why wouldn't they be? They were all pretty great.

"I am so proud of you all for not peeking at your card yet. I know how tempting it can be!" Her wide smile was still present, even though she knew there was one of two that did look. "Keep it secret still.. it's almost time to look! But before we do that.. one more question. What kind of witch or wizard is found on these trading cards? You don't need to name any specifics.. but why would one wizard get his own trading card and not another? How does that get determined?"

OOC - Thank you so much for your patience! I've been really busy with RL work, but we'll be moving on with the activity very soon! As before, just one answer per person and please try not to repeat what anyone else said.

She picked at the wrapper of the second chocolate frog she'd conquered. They were hers by right now and it would seem the cards had pictures of icons in this society she'd come to. Interesting. She demanded her face on one.

"People of power, obviously. Those who crush the inferior and make their stance amongst those of the same great prowess." Which obviously meant she needed one. How did one go about getting their face on these things anyway? Idly, she flicked her new card from side to side, watching the picture watching her.

Hang on. Was this the Merlin everyone spoke of???

Scribble...... scribble.... scribble.....

How can it be determined who should be placed on a chocolate frog card? Dead simple. "Well, it's not gonna be given to any old idiot, now is it? You have to do something remarkable, probably change something in the wizarding world or discover something. You do that and you're pretty much guaranteed a spot on one of those bad boys." Or, as someone else had pointed out, by being the Minister of Magic. He wasn't sure whether he wanted to do something like THAT but it would be cool to be on one of these cards. he could almost imagine turning the thing over and imagining his handsome face smirking up at him.

Sigh.

Also, he was kinda itching to see what chocolate frog card he'd gotten.

...Cutty found the reasons for certain normal social behaviours to be absolute nonsense. Not as in he didn't value them, but as in they literally made no sense. His own personal rabbit hole where the rules were things like sit with your legs crossed for half an hour on Sunday and not on Monday or both of your legs shall be cast off forever. He was asked to do all number of social acrobatics with what appeared to his somewhat anti-social brain as inconsistent. The punishments never fit the crimes, which were all supposed at best to Cutty.

It was confusing to a boy who had no idea he was in fact, not a real boy, but an automaton of sorts. So when the Professor asked them to explain why people judged certain things as good and certain things as bad, he had nothing to say on the matter. Nothing to say.

He did, however opening up his card.
