Sort of as a Christmas gift? Ish. He wasn't the sort to gift his students anything save for perhaps graduations, so this was as close a 'gift' as Miss Wisteria would get.

"Of course," he said, returning the wink as he relaxed a bit more into his chair.

"Certainly was. The digs proved most eventful and uncovering an archaeoastronomy shrine was stellar...save for the basilisk..." And then his face fell ever so slightly. Greece...she HAD said Greece, yes? If he were able to emphasize with creatures, he would have felt like a kicked cruppy. But even entertaining the thought of him being a cruppy was absurd and quickly dismissed. Although he couldn't deny that he was a bit gutted that it seemed as though the intellectual opportunity he had presented as a trip to Greece was not good enough for her to have joined. Her and Miss Cambridge, actually. Which was a real pity considering it was their last opportunity to have gone on one during the time at Hogwarts.

He did, of course keep this all to himself. Save for the quiet, "Oh," he uttered before taking another sip. Forced sad cruppy face tugging at his features.

If there's one thing she would've loved is starting her university studies next September. Unfortunately, there was no way she could get the muggle tests on time. But it was all okay, there were plenty of things to do and little courses to take in the meantime. Had she gone to Airey at the beginning of last year, then she would've started on this whole thing sooner, though the winter era might've prevented her from owling things and whatnot. ANYWAY..., "The holidays sound excellent!" Quite literally, she couldn't wait for them. So her smile was as genuine as ever!

There. No one will know. Good.

Oh? "It does sound like quite a stellar trip... but... basilisk?" Her eyebrows were raised, and she definitely wanted a bit more insight into this clearly unexpected part of their journey to... wherever they intended on finding. The thing is, she noticed the change in his overall expression. It wasn't difficult to notice, and Lotus was rather good at reading this, so she proceeded with caution. "It wasn't personal, you know, Professor?" she started to say, "But after being locked in the castle for a few months, certain Hogwarts-related activities didn't seem appropriate." Like spending time with people she didn't particularly like or approved of. It makes sense. It had nothing to do with Airey or Medea. At all.

"Our--My trip to Greece was wonderful, though, and Italy, too. The food was excellent. I was never in any danger, and there were no basilisks in sight. I assume no one died in the Hogwarts trip, otherwise I would've heard something about it." Then again, no one had mentioned a basilisk.

More tea-drinking ensued.
